These times we are living in are inviting us to get more real and raw with the truth of who we are. We are being asked to know ourselves more deeply, to be more resilient, and to connect with each other more authentically.
The personas we’ve played and the masks we’ve worn are no longer working because they block our unique wisdom, solution-based thinking, and creativity.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Now is the time for us to step into the truth of who we are and the power that lies within to heal, create, and connect in new ways, rather than waiting for someone or something to come save us.
Personas
Personas are something we all have. For so many of us, we’ve learned to become who we thought we needed to be in order to belong, to succeed, to be loved, and to stay safe.
We create these personas through our conditioning and beliefs, and through the stories we tell ourselves or that we learned from our peers or society. The persona is the mask you may wear that can hide your true expression and your ability to be truly present.
These personas don’t just show up in our lives; they are also present in our bodies as we hide parts of ourselves. They live in the body as tension patterns:
tight jaw
held breath
collapsed or overly rigid posture
Lack of eye contact
Body pain
The persona is not “bad,” it’s protective. But it limits our full, authentic expression. It limits our experience of life by restricting our ability to know ourselves more deeply, which can hold us back from our true destiny.
Presence
Presence is your true nature in real-time. Presence is not about becoming someone new; it’s about releasing what you’re not. It is about remembering who you are and loving who you are. It is about letting yourself express more fully and allowing your true wisdom to SHINE.
It feels:
relaxed, open, responsive
connected to breath and sensation
rooted in truth rather than performance
It is energizing more than depleting
Presence doesn’t try to be anything. It simply is: YOU. So we practice:
From Persona → Presence
The shift from persona to presence happens through awareness, breath, movement, and curiosity.
A 5-Minute Practice to Return to Your True Nature:
Interview your inner performer 🎭 💃
Take a moment to pause… soften your body… and come into your breath.
Notice the masks you wear. Ask yourself: Who is my most prevalent persona? Become aware of the role you’re playing (the strong one, the pleaser, the achiever, the caretaker, etc.). No judgment—just noticing.
Feel it in your body. Bring your awareness inward:
Where do you feel this in your body when you are in that persona, visualize a moment where this persona is alive in you?
What happens to your breath?
Let your shoulders drop… unclench your jaw… take a slow, full inhale and exhale.
4. Name the Cost. Gently ask: What does it take to hold this mask in place? Notice what feels tight, effortful, or hidden.
5. Open to Your Essence. Take a deeper breath and ask: If I didn’t have to be this… who am I? Let whatever arises be enough: a feeling, a quality, a sense of YOU.
6. Embody It. Let your body respond :
How does your posture shift?
What wants to move?
Maybe you sway, breathe deeper, soften, or expand…
✨ Integration. What is one small way I can bring this true version of me into my day or into these moments?
Extra Credit: Where in my life am I most present, in my true nature? Why do I feel safe to allow that?
Shake Off the Persona:
Put on your favorite song
Start shaking your body (literally shake out arms, legs, torso)
Imagine the roles, expectations, identities flying off you and dropping away
Then transition into:
slower, intuitive movement (and maybe a slower song)
let your body lead (not your mind)
Ask:
“If I wasn’t trying to be anyone… how would I move?”
✨ This is presence in motion.
Remember:
Your persona is something you learned. Your presence is who you are, when you are unlearning and becoming the truth of who you are.
What you will find is that your authenticity is so much more life and energy-giving.
