Awaken: Heart Breath
Lock onto love with this breathwork, visualizing your heart as your lungs. Breathe open and expand your heart through this simple, accessible exercise.
Extending your exhale tells your nervous system you are safe, and you can begin to bring your attention inside to the sensation and direction from inside.
This brings us into presence.
Your breath should feel expansive but comfortable. If you Inhale for 4 counts you would exhale for 6 counts or in for 5 and out for 7 or in for 6 and out for 8. Your body, your choice, see what feels best for you and then simply breeeeeathe.

It can help diminish sleep issues. Do this practice before bed or for middle-of-the-night wakefulness to drown out the monkey mind and come into a restful state.
Heart Breath is a great centering technique for before a big meeting or challenging conversation that can bring clarity and more perspective.

Breathwork
1. Sit in a comfortable seated position, eyes closed.
2. Place your hand(s) at your heart center. It is easier to bring your attention to your heart by putting a hand or both hands over your heart.
3. Take long slow deep breaths through the nose, while visualizing the breath coming in and out of your heart.
4. Extend your exhales by a few counts, e.g. inhale for a count of 4 and exhale for a count of 6, or inhale for 5 counts and exhale for 7.
5. Feel the energy in and around your heart expanding and flooding your entire system and beyond your body. See if you can stay with it for at least 3 minutes.
